After leading on small businesses and startups for the state of California and then federal government during COVID-19 and the subsequent economic recovery, Isabel Casillas Guzman founded Avenida Advisors to continue advancing entrepreneurship and the role small businesses play in delivering innovation, competition and inclusive growth in our economy. Her leadership was shaped not only in Washington and Sacramento, but through her own experience as a founder and through extensive engagement with entrepreneurs, capital allocators, ecosystem builders, and local government and civic leaders across the country.
Avenida leverages its small business expertise to support business growth strategies and strengthened entrepreneurial ecosystems—working to advance private and public capital markets, procurement systems, products and programs, and government/regulatory navigation to turn complex challenges into high-impact solutions.
Backed by a team of former government leaders and experienced operators in finance, data, and program delivery, Avenida pairs deep strategic insight with hands-on execution to help clients build stronger tools, smarter vendor strategies, effective programs and initiatives, and data-driven approaches that achieve real results.

Why Avenida?
We chose the name Avenida because it captures the spirit of what we’re building: a company grounded in the energy and resilience of Main Street, but designed to operate at scale. Avenida means avenue — a word that evokes connection, movement, and possibility. It’s bigger than a street. It’s a place where businesses grow, people gather, and ideas flow.
